We read Steinbeck's East of Eden, the whole thing. We did not, however, finish Netflix's adaptation of the book. It was a DNF for us. Join us as we discuss what makes this book special and why we weren't able to finish the show.

In Book 3 of the Aeneid, we get the full backstory. Aeneas and his men have been to so many places, and they haven't been able to settle anywhere. These guys can't stop, won't stop. In this episode we talk about what makes a place. Is Aeneas refounding Troy or trying to find a better place with Trojan spirit?

In the final episode of our Odyssey series we discuss how this strange ending makes sense in the context of the whole story. Why does Athena intervene so much now? What is the Odyssey trying to say about justice? And do we still like the Odyssey, after discussing it so much?
What should we read next? Virgil's Aeneid or Aeschylus' Oresteia? Go to our YouTube channel to vote below in the comment section!
Thank you to everyone who has come on this odyssey with us. We have more episodes coming in preparation for Nolan's Odyssey film.
